Social Media and Online Store Manager
We are currently seeking a versatile individual with a passion for horticulture and native plants , who is comfortable using social media. This person will be responsible for orchestrating all operations from production to customer service . We also expect this individual to ensure the full development of the OnlineTrees.com sales platform.
Job Description: Social Media and Online Store Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Capturing moments of life at work, showcasing the plants produced and all the team's expertise on social media
- Maintaining the online store on a Shopify platform (inventory management, writing blog content, creating new product listings, updating promotions)
- Implement the digital marketing strategy in collaboration with management and external partners (SEO, social media, online advertising, etc.)
- Provide customer service (offer horticultural advice, explain sales and shipping processes, follow up on positive and negative customer feedback)
- Coordinate and participate in order preparation and packaging operations
REQUIREMENTS
- DEP or DEC in Horticulture or relevant experience
- Mastering the basic tools in digital marketing (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
- Proficiency in basic computer tools (MS Office suite software, experience with the Shopify platform is an asset)
- Excellent command of the French language
- Must be available to work some Saturdays during peak season (mid-April to mid-June)
- Knowledge of native Quebec plants is an asset

Vert Forêt Nursery , in operation for over 30 years, specializes in the greenhouse and nursery production of young native trees and shrubs, primarily from seed. The company produces over 1.5 million coniferous and deciduous seedlings annually. The nursery's products are destined for a diverse commercial clientele (garden centers, production nurseries, cedar hedge growers, cities and municipalities, landscapers, and environmental groups).

Online Trees is an online sales platform that has been operating for over 10 years. It was created to allow individuals to purchase the unique products of the Vert Forêt Nursery. A complete website redesign in 2024, along with significant SEO work, has propelled the business to a new level.

Online Trees is a branch of Pépinière Vert forêt, located in the Montérégie region of southern Quebec. The nursery has been in operation for over 30 years. Three different generations of owners (non-related) have passed the torch to the present day.
The primary vocation of Pépinière vert forêt is to serve a commercial clientele (garden centers, landscapers, horticultural producers, cities and municipalities, NGOs, …).

Our plants, trees and shrubs
The plants, trees, and shrubs we sell are young plants, one to two years old (their height varies from about ten centimeters to a maximum of two feet, depending on the variety and age). They are produced in multi-cell production trays (a tray containing several cells). These plants are rooted in a core of growing medium. They are mostly native, meaning they originate from our forest ecosystems in Quebec . These are very hardy plants. They are well-adapted to Quebec's harsh climate and are not very susceptible to insects and diseases. Most are easy to grow if planted in the right environment (soil type, light, pH, humidity).
